General Questions
1. What is solar water desalination?
Solar water desalination uses sunlight to evaporate water, leaving salt and impurities behind. The steam is then condensed into pure, clean drinking water. No electricity, no membranes, no filters.
2. How does your system work?
Mirrors concentrate sunlight onto a black receiver tube. Water inside heats up, evaporates, and the steam condenses on a cool surface. The result is pure water — from any source.
3. What makes your system different?
- No electricity — works completely off-grid
- No membranes — nothing to replace, nothing to fail
- No filters — no consumables, no subscriptions
- No imports — built locally, repaired locally
- 10–20 year lifespan — built to last
Products & Output
4. How much water can it produce?
- SWD-50 — 50L/day — serves 8–12 people
- SWD-200 — 200L/day — serves 30–50 people
- SWD-400 — 400L/day — serves 60–100 people
Output depends on sunlight, water source, and system size.
5. What water sources can it use?
Any water source:
- Seawater
- Brackish water
- Well water
- River water
- Rainwater
- Contaminated water
Evaporation + condensation removes everything.
6. What does it remove?
- Salt — removed
- Bacteria — removed
- Viruses — removed
- Chemicals — removed
- Heavy metals — removed
- Microplastics — removed
Only pure water vapor rises.
Cost & Pricing
7. How much does a system cost?
- SWD-50 — under $1,000
- SWD-200 — request quote
- SWD-400 — request quote
Low cost. Community scale. Locally built.
8. Why is it cheaper than reverse osmosis?
We eliminate:
- No solar panels
- No batteries
- No inverter
- No controller
- No high-pressure pump
- No RO membranes
- No pre-filters
- No chemicals
You save $10,000–40,000 upfront and $1,000–3,000 per year in maintenance.
9. Are there hidden costs?
No.
- No electricity bills
- No membrane replacements
- No filter subscriptions
- No chemicals
- No service contracts
Maintenance & Lifespan
10. How long does it last?
10–20 years with simple maintenance. The mirrors are mirror-anodized aluminum. The receiver is copper. The frame is steel.
11. What maintenance is needed?
- Clean mirrors — occasional wiping
- Flush receiver — to remove scale
- Check seals — replace if worn
- Drain brine — regularly
Any local handyman can do it.
12. How often do I need to clean it?
Weekly in dusty areas. Monthly in clean areas. Simple wiping with a soft cloth.
13. Can I repair it myself?
Yes. The system is designed for local repair.
- Replace one mirror panel
- Replace the receiver tube
- Replace seals
- No specialists needed
Installation & Use
14. Can it work off-grid?
Yes. The system needs no electricity. It works completely off-grid.
15. Does it need direct sunlight?
Yes. It works best in direct sunlight. Output is reduced on cloudy days.
16. Does it need tracking?
No daily tracking. The system uses seasonal tilt — adjust 4 times per year.
17. How do I install it?
Simple installation:
- Mount the frame
- Set the V-angle
- Install the receiver
- Connect the condenser
- Add storage tank
- Fill with water
- Aim at the sun
No plumbing. No electrical. No specialists.
18. Can it be used indoors?
No. It needs direct sunlight to work.
