About SWD & Our Experience
SWD builds low-cost solar water desalination and purification systems for communities.
We are not new to industrial engineering and manufacturing.
Our founder brings over 50 years of experience in manufacturing, renewable energy, and international trade. He has built factories, launched companies, and exported products worldwide.
A Track Record of Building and Scaling
He has founded multiple companies — including BioKing (renewable energy) and AlgeLink (algae biofuel). Both companies were successfully sold within three years — a testament to his ability to build, scale, and exit businesses profitably.
In fact, he has proven time and again that he can turn a startup into a million-euro company within approximately three years — a track record he achieved with every venture he has built.
Current Focus
He is now channeling his decades of experience in international trade, production, and logistics into a new venture: facilitating the import and export of Asian and Surinamese species and products to the Americas and the Caribbean.
Leveraging his extensive network and supply chain expertise, he connects producers with new markets — ensuring quality, compliance, and efficient distribution.
Why This Matters for SWD
The same skills that built and sold companies are now applied to solar water desalination:
- Manufacturing — building systems that last
- Renewable energy — solar, biofuels, biogas
- International trade — sourcing, logistics, distribution
- Business development — scaling from prototype to production
No electricity. No membranes. No imports. Locally built.
